Personalised Silver Bone Dog Tag - Engraved Stainless Steel

The traditional dog tag, done properly: a bone-shaped name tag in brushed stainless steel, deep laser-engraved on both sides in our Surrey workshop. Your dog's name up front, your ID and contact details on the back, with 28 symbols and 10 font styles to make it theirs.

Brushed steel that shrugs off the daily walk

Cut from 2mm-thick stainless steel with a hand-brushed finish that hides fingerprints, scuffs and everyday knocks. Deep laser engraving - never print, never paint - means there is no coating to peel and nothing to fade, however wet the winter. Waterproof, rust-resistant, and light enough to wear from first walk to old age.

• Medium (40 x 21mm, 6g) - from puppies through to most adult breeds: spaniels, dachshunds, labradors
• Large (50 x 29mm, 8g) - properly proportioned for retrievers, shepherds and bigger dogs on wider collars

Comes with two stainless steel split rings: small one on the tag, larger one on the collar's D-ring - use both and the tag hangs flat.

Up to 3 lines on the front, plus 5 lines on the back - enough for surname, address and two phone numbers. Add one of 28 symbols beneath the text. UK dog tag law - what the back should carry

By law your dog should wear the owner's name and address in public places. A phone number is not required, but it is what gets a lost dog home the same day - add one. Proven layout: name or symbol front; surname, house number, street, postcode and phone on the back.

Keeping it looking new

A wipe with a damp cloth after salty, sandy or muddy outings keeps the brushed finish clean. Avoid bleach and scouring pads, and replace a split ring the moment it starts to open or stretch.

Which bone size should I choose? Medium (40 x 21mm) suits most dogs from puppy to adult; Large (50 x 29mm) looks right on labradors, retrievers, shepherds and thicker collars.

Will it suit a puppy? Yes - the Medium weighs just 6g and sits comfortably on a puppy collar, with room to keep the same tag as they grow.

Will the engraving fade? No - the details are engraved into the steel itself. Nothing is printed on, so nothing wears off.

Do I have to engrave both sides? No - many owners keep the front to a name or symbol and put all the ID details on the back.
