How to Measure Your Dog for a Collar?

We often get asked "how is the best way to measure a dog's neck prior to purchasing a new collar"?

Whilst every dog collar designer has their own preferred method, try to avoid measuring a currently collar, as this won't give a true indication of size.

All collars are made differently, along with varying sized hardware and hole placement - all which will impact the fit, and comfort of the newly purchased collar.

We find the easiest way to ensure that you order an accurately sized collar is to measure around your dogs neck with a tape measure where the collar would naturally sit, then insert a couple of your fingers for comfort - you don't want the tape to be too loose or too tight, finally record the measurement in centimeters/inches.

We know that it's not always possible to measure the dogs neck, be it when purchasing for a gift, or in anticipation of a new arrival. With that in mind, we've created the below chart which shows our collar sizes, as well as an overview to the breeds most likely suited to that particular size based on data we've collected over the years in manufacturing dog collars.
