Built for daily collar wear

Each tag is cut from 2mm-thick stainless steel with a hand-brushed finish that hides fingerprints, scuffs and everyday marks. The lettering is laser-engraved deep into the metal - not printed, painted or applied on top - so there is no coating to peel and no ink to fade through muddy walks and wet weather. Waterproof, rust-resistant, and light enough that your dog will forget it is there.

What should a dog tag say? (UK rules)

UK dog tag rules say your dog should wear the owner's name and address when in a public place. A phone number is not required by law, but most owners add one because it is the fastest way to be contacted if their dog gets lost. A layout that works: your dog's name or a symbol on the front; your surname, house number, street, postcode and phone number on the back - a proper ID tag as well as a name tag.

Caring for your tag

Stainless steel is hard-wearing, but no pet tag is indestructible. Wipe clean with a damp cloth after muddy, sandy or salty walks, avoid bleach and scouring pads, and replace any split ring that starts to open, stretch or look worn.

Questions

Will it suit a cat or a puppy? Yes. The Small (20mm) weighs just 4g and sits neatly on cat and puppy collars - it is the size we recommend for kittens and toy breeds.

Will the engraving fade? No. The details are engraved into the steel itself, so there is no printed or painted surface to wear off through daily collar use.

Which size should I choose? Medium (25mm) suits most dogs. Go Small for cats, puppies and toy breeds, and Large if you want a full address and phone number in bigger lettering.

Do I have to engrave both sides? No. Engrave one or both sides - many owners keep the front simple with just a name or symbol and put contact details on the back.
