Having finally returned to London, I was hoping to showcase some of the must have accessories I found whilst on my travels. But today, I’d like to dedicate this post to one of the cutest Dachshunds to walk the planet, the adorable ‘Tatler Alan’.
A week ago today, tragedy struck at Vogue House, leaving thousands of Alan’s loyal followers bereft, after he became stuck in the revolving doors of the publishing house.
Shortly before 11am last Tuesday, Alan was being taken out for a walk when he became distracted by a jogger returning from a run and attempted to dash through the door in a “split second” before getting trapped.
The fire department arrived within minutes, and the team of 10 officers spent the next hour trying to free Alan and the male jogger from the revolving door. But sadly, Alan died at the scene.
Miniature daxi Alan belonged to Jennifer George, assistant to the editor of Tatler. In his short life, he had become a permanent fixture at the magazine’s offices and was widely known on the fashion scene. Last November he was awarded Dog of the Day by Dogs Trust and fashion/fellow dog blogger ‘Liberty London Girl’.
Ms George confirmed the sad news on her Twitter page that morning.
She wrote: “Yesterday my tiny much loved man Alan passed away in a tragic accident.”
“Thank you to all that were there to help, all the kind wishes and all who followed @TatlerAlan He was so awesome & so very loved.”
At the time of his death, Alan had amassed in excess of 2000 twitter followers, that figure now stands at over 4000.
RIP little guy, you will be missed.
